I tried plugging in the Kinect for Windows into the Xbox, and the console did NOT recognise it. So I can confirm that the Kinect for Windows will not work on the Xbox.

The Kinect typically does a pretty good job but the tech is also finicky at times, especially the v1 from the original Xbox 360. v2 is far better but it can still have some issues, especially with the person in a seated position.
